Job Responsibilities:
# To Assist the Head, Wildlife Genetics Division in management and administration of project activities of the division.
# To contribute to optimum functioning of the Wildlife Genetics Laboratory, Aaranyak at Guwahati through stock checking, laboratory and equipment maintenance, contract renewals etc.
# To undertake field surveys and laboratory work as well assigned by the Head, Wildlife Genetics Division.
# Provide support to both organizational capacity building as well as any other relevant task assigned by the Head, Wildlife Genetics Division.
# Maintaining regular communication on relevant matters within the team and timely reporting to the Head, Wildlife Genetics Division.
Educational Qualification:
# Master’s degree in relevant disciplines of biological sciences including Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Zoology, Botany etc.
# Good knowledge on biodiversity of northeast India.
Experience:
# Minimum 2- 3 years of experience of laboratory work in DNA based techniques, particularly DNA extraction, DNA sequencing and microsatellite genotyping.
# Qualitative and quantitative analytical skills
# Experience of teamwork and good interpersonal communication skills.
# Should be able to drive two-wheeler or 4-wheeler and having the confidence to travel to remote locations for fieldwork.
Age Limit: Below 35 years .
Honorarium: Negotiable with working knowledge, experience and qualification.
Tenure: Annual (Initial term is for one year with possibility of long-term engagement based on the annual performance appraisal)
